46th BCS Prelims Friday: Instructions given by PSC

The 46th BCS-2023 preliminary examination (MCQ type) will be held simultaneously in eight divisions across the country on Friday (April 26). This two-hour examination will be held from 10 am to 12 pm in different centers of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday (April 23).When asked about the exam, Chairman PSC. Sohrab Hossain said that the exam will be held on April 26. Today we spoke to the magistrates, yesterday we spoke to the head of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, besides we held online and direct meetings with all the field administration. Examination means testing, not testing someone by hearing or in any other way. Anyone who violates this will be terminated from the examination.

It is informed in the notification that you have to enter the examination center before 9:30 am and take the seat. No candidate will be allowed to enter the hall after 9:30. The main gate of the examination hall will be closed after 9:30.

Hall name and room number of the candidates will be sent to their mobile numbers through SMS beforehand. Later, if required, candidates can click on Teletalk website (http://bpsc.teletalk.com.bd) and commission website (www.bpsc.gov.bd) to find hall name and room number by entering registration number in seat layout and time table search module. Candidates must follow hygiene rules and maintain physical distance while entering the examination hall.

Candidates will stay in their seats after the exam is over. The invigilators will collect the answer sheets. After the invigilators have collected and understood the answer sheets, the candidates will slowly leave the examination hall following hygiene rules and maintaining physical distance.

Urgent instructions regarding examination

The invigilators will check the candidate’s admit card photograph, registration number and national identity card (if applicable) at the examination hall. After the distribution of question papers, no candidate shall leave the examination hall till the end of the examination (12 noon).

Legal action will be taken against the candidate along with cancellation of candidature if any irregularity is detected including mistake in name and registration number of a candidate, signature, admit card and answer sheet.

Books, all types of watches, mobile phones, calculators, all types of electronic devices, bank cards/credit cards, jewelry and bags are strictly prohibited from being brought to the examination center. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall with the prohibited materials mentioned.

SMS will be sent to the mobile phones of all the candidates not to bring the mentioned prohibited items on the day of examination. Follow the instructions in the SMS message.

Candidates should not cover their ears during the examination, they should keep their ears open. If it is necessary to use any kind of hearing aid in the ear, the approval of the commission should be taken along with the expert doctor’s recommendation letter.

PSC published 46th BCS notification on 30th November 2023 to recruit 3 thousand 140 candidates in various cadres. 

In that notification, it was informed that most of the 3 thousand 140 posts will be taken in the health cadre. There are 1 thousand 682 BCS assistant surgeons, 16 assistant dental surgeons. After that the maximum number of 920 people will be taken in education cadre.

Besides, 274 people will be taken in BCS administration, 10 in foreign affairs, 80 in police, 14 in Ansar, 49 in BCS family planning, 26 in fisheries and 65 in public works.

The PSC notification also mentions that the number of vacancies may change due to new recruitment, termination, promotion, retirement, death, resignation or removal.
