Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, the newly elected president of the Supreme Court Lawyers Association, has demanded the expulsion of Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Secretary General of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum, as a rapist and a coward for protecting 2,600 women lawyers. At that time, he also termed Kaiser Kamal as a government agent, childish and guilty of moral turpitude.
He made such allegations in a press conference held by Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon on Monday (April 22) noon in room number one of the Bar regarding the situation arising from the Nationalist Lawyers Forum.Khokon gave an oral speech without giving a written statement at the press conference. His entire press conference speech revolved around Nationalist Lawyers Forum Secretary General and BNP Central Committee Legal Affairs Secretary Qaiser Kamal. At this time, Khokon claimed that there is no basis to expel me from the Nationalist Lawyers Forum. I was in student politics of BNP since the age of 17-18 from the time of Ziaur Rahman. I still am and will be in the future. However, Mahbub Uddin Khokon commented without saying anything.
He further said, ‘Kaiser Kamal undertook never to commit such a crime in the future while seeking bail from the High Court in a case filed against him after he was caught having an affair with his wife. Later he married that woman without Kabin.’
Khokon said, ‘There is no legitimacy to exclude me from the nationalist forum. Because, the forum has no constitution. Those who were previously expelled from the organization without the constitution, their expulsion was also not correct.
Incidentally, newly elected president AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon was expelled from the post of senior vice-president of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum as the Supreme Court ignored the decision of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum (party) and assumed the duties of the President of the Bar Association. In response, Barrister Khokon held a press conference today.
